Efficiency First represents its members in public policy discussions at the state and national levels, to promote the benefits of efficiency retrofitting and to help our industry grow to meet unprecedented demand for quality residential energy improvements.

Energy Star

ENERGY STAR is a joint program of the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency and the U.S. Department of Energy helping us all save money and protect the environment through energy efficient products and practices. Energy Star identifies and promotes energy efficient products that help us achieve our mission.

Northeast Building Products

Northeast Building Products (NBP) has been using “green” practices, which includes recycling and energy use mitigation, since the company’s inception in 1975. It also offers an energy-efficient window that the company touts as the most efficient IG unit on the market.

In the January, 2010 State of the Union, President Barack Obama highlighted Northeast Building Products as an example of how the American Reinvestment and Recovery Act has created jobs. Defending the 2009 stimulus package, Obama said, “Economists on the left and the right say this bill has helped save jobs and avert disaster. But you don’t have to take their word for it.” After pointing to a business in Phoenix, he then said, “Talk to the window manufacturer in Philadelphia who said he used to be skeptical about the Recovery Act, until he had to add two more work shifts just because of the business it created.”
